In a recent workshop I attended, we were guided to think of where anxiety showed up in our body. Becoming curious about where stress shows up physically requires some thought. Most of us in the room had our logical explanations, but weren’t necessarily connected to where it actually manifested in our bodies.

We’d reasoned our way out of experiencing the discomfort of it and most of us had many ways to bypass that discomfort.

Whether you move past the discomfort consciously or not, it doesn’t change the impact on your body.

Anxiety is the result of our failed attempt to control the future.

Our bodies don’t know the difference between what’s real or imagined. This is where perception is reality comes in.

If our bodies truly don’t know the difference, isn’t it time we use our minds to our advantage?

Becoming more in tune with our bodies’ reactions relative to what’s happening in our world is the first step to adjusting what’s happening instead of covering it up.
