The Power of EOS
In this week’s episode of Intentional Greatness, I feature my guest interview on the Progressive Dentist podcast with Craig Cody. 2020 has been full of twists and turns for small business owners in all industries and walks of life, so having a system to lean into when difficult challenges arise is critical. During our conversation, Craig and I talk about how business owners can use the EOS system to thrive under any circumstances and plan for a successful 2021. EOS is the opportunity to help you focus forward, clarify your vision, and get traction so you can have your best year yet.
Vision, Traction, and Healthy
Visionaries are my favorite people in the world, and I am dedicated to helping them get the most out of their businesses. EOS or the Entrepreneurial Operating System is a powerful tool that enables us to get there and maintain our success. EOS is built on three principles, vision, traction, and healthy. Vision is about getting all leaders on the same page about where their business is going and how they’re going to get there. Traction is focused on discipline and holding that leadership team more accountable so they can execute the company’s vision. And healthy is about making your leadership a functional, cohesive unit that works in unison toward the organization’s goals.
Implementing EOS in Your Company
If you are working with a certified EOS implementer, the process takes about 10-12 sessions spread out over the course of two years. We systematically work through a set of twenty tools/disciplines, about half of which are outlined in Gino Wickman’s book “Traction.” But the true power of this system can only be leveraged with all of the pieces in place. It is essentially a leadership development system disguised as an operating system. EOS helps leaders run their businesses more effectively so they are freed up for decisions and tasks that only the business owner can do.
