We all struggle with difficult conversations. When you’re facing the prospect of letting someone go, it brings all of your humanity to the surface if there isn’t some kind of clear wrongdoing.
We must face these situations with open minds and open hearts as well as the firmness and commitment to the greater good of our teams in mind.
We cannot let our compassion cloud what must be done to care for the entirety of the community and team we serve under our roof. Someone can’t be more important than everyone.
When accountability is in question, the push that makes someone better is the same one that makes them go away.
