This week, I worked with two of my teams in person. Since March 10, these are two of the three teams I’ve seen “live” beyond Zoom.
In the most basic of ways, the spring of 2020 has stripped the pretense of formality and left us with clarity of the “real” priorities in life. While many of us have said time and again it’s the simplest of things, somehow, the dynamics of this Spring have galvanized the importance of family, health, equality, relationships, time, teachers, community, and peace to name a few.
Today, there was no Zooming out. Today, I was grateful for the energy I felt after a ten-hour day in person doing work I love, with people I love, being compensated appropriately, and making a difference in the world with time left over to pursue other passions. This is the #eoslife and I’m grateful.
I truly love working with people and prefer to do so in person. At the same time, I am grateful for all the flexibility we’ve had to work and adapt in a digitally distanced world to ensure everyone’s safety and health.
Knowing what feeds your soul and where you receive your energy is critical to designing your world to maximize your contribution. Pay attention. You’ll be better for it.
