Rest.
It’s been a mostly delayed thing recently. I had a heavy week of travel, six cities in seven days.
When I travel like this, the changing time zones, hotels, climate, and people take a toll on me. I don’t sleep well and eating healthy is challenging on the road. I’m lucky if I can remember my room number by the end of the week.
I fell apart at the end of the week. My body said, “no more.”
It was Wednesday of vacation before I felt well again, thanks to an accidentally, well-placed vacation at the end of the week.
Thankfully, we rented a home. It required a trip to the grocery store and has everything we need: privacy, a swimming pool, an ocean view with a beach walk out to the water and peace and quiet.
I’ve never been able to sit and do nothing for any length of time.
Until now.
I’m gaining perspective as I recover. A sinusitis, humidity, warm weather and no schedule allow that abundantly.
No is a better option for the future.
